Music School Frequently Asked Questions (FAQ)
Enrollment & Scheduling
Is there a monthly contract?
There is no monthly contract, however, we recommend that lessons are taken for at least 3-6 months to allow you or your child to get into a routine and develop a new skill. The only condition we have with canceling lessons is that we ask you to give us at least three weeks notice (when possible) to allow us to fill the Instructor's schedule more easily so they do not have a gap.
How do I enroll my child (or myself) in lessons?
You can enroll yourself for a trial lesson or lessons through our website: lumusicacademy.com, or we can do it for you over the phone at: 682-271-9748
Can I start lessons at any time during the year?
Yes, we are open year round except for Spring Break, Thanksgiving Week, and Christmas Break.
What ages do you teach?
Private lessons range from age 7 - 107! Group classes are available for younger students.
Do you offer adult lessons?
Yes, in fact, many of our students are adults. We always say it is never too late to learn the magic of music!
What if I need to miss a lesson?
Let us know and we will send you a personalized recorded lesson, and/or if we can, we will try to fit you on the Instructor's schedule later on in the week.
How do you handle rescheduling or makeup lessons?
We do not offer makeup lessons or rescheduling for every instance. If it is possible we will try, but usually the schedule for that week is set and we like to notify the teachers ahead of time as much as possible if there are changes. If we are closed due to inclement weather, we have certain Saturdays throughout the year reserved for make-ups.
Do you close for holidays or follow a school calendar?
Yes, we are closed for Thanksgiving, Christmas, and Spring Break. We follow WSISD and FWISD. We are not closed for summer.
